Snoop Dogg Produced October London’s Album About Love

For years, the name Death Row Records meant Tupac, Dr. Dre and West Coast hip-hop. On August 14, the label releases a different kind of record: October London’s R&B album “Love Me For Me”, introduced by the single “Your Girl”.

Snoop Dogg and Soopafly produced all ten tracks. Instead of building rap records, the two hip-hop veterans shaped songs about commitment, vulnerability and relationships around London’s classic-soul delivery.

The arrangement of “Your Girl” uses chimes, flute, piano, bass and saxophone. In the lyric, London turns down the attention of a woman who is already in a relationship because he does not want to disrupt either hers or his own.

His previous album, “October Nights”, reached the Top 10 of Billboard’s R&B albums chart. “Touch on Me” then became his third No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay, following “Back to Your Place” and “Mulholland Drive”.

Barack Obama included “Make Me Wanna” on his 2026 summer playlist, and London appeared in the Roberta Flack tribute at that year’s Grammy ceremony. “Love Me For Me” shows how far the current Death Row catalogue has moved from the music that once defined the label.
