Giedrius Nakas
Giedrius Nakas is known to many as a pianist who for 15 years now has been performing regularly with many of Lithuania’s best-known bands and artists (Saulės Kliošas, A. Mamontovas, Jurga, kamanių šilelis, M. Jankavičius, ba., Šv. Bankuchenas, LT Balsas etc.). He has also distinguished himself as one of the best modern jazz pianists and as a composer, having recorded three albums of his own music (in New York, Riga and Groningen). And in 2020 he released his vocal album “Burtai”, featuring his “American-style” Lithuanian soul/r’n’b/pop songs – heartfelt, intimate and harmonious. You will hear that programme, expanded with new pieces and a few favourite covers, on 19 November at Downtown Piano Lab! The Dainykla project is partly funded by Vilnius City Municipality.
