Domantas Razmus | SOLO
Domantas Razmus · percussion · electronics
On the evening of 29 October, the DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB stage will host a concert for those seeking new musical experiences and wanting to see up close how rhythm, electronics and visuals merge into a single living organism. An exceptional solo performance by Domantas Razmus brings together sensor-based percussion, electronic music and visual projections controlled in real time. Every movement and strike the performer makes on stage not only creates sound but also changes the image on the screen, so music and visuals emerge simultaneously, becoming a cohesive audiovisual work. This is no ordinary percussion concert. Traditional drum sounds are complemented by electronic sounds, unexpected textures, improvisation and technology. Sensor-based instruments become a living interface between a person and a computer, while each composition becomes a distinct world of sounds, rhythms and images. The audience is invited not only to listen, but also to watch music instantly take on a visual form. Domantas Razmus is a drummer, percussionist and music creator. Over the past 10 years, he has released more than 20 albums with various jazz, improvised and contemporary music performers and ensembles, and in 2023 he made his debut as a composer/multi-instrumentalist with the album “Riddims and Groves Vol.1”. In 2025, he released his second solo album, “Scratching the surface”, in which he explores themes of improvised, electronic and world music using innovative electronic percussion instrument technologies. Continuing his explorations of electronic and acoustic percussion, in 2026 he released a cycle of audiovisual compositions/improvisations, "Abstractions for drums, electronics and multimedia". The Dainykla project is partly funded by Vilnius City Municipality.
