On 30 October, the DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB stage will host an exceptional solo concert by French jazz pianist and composer Adrien Brandeis. In the “HANDMADE” programme, the pianist will present his fifth album, recorded live at the prestigious “Bechstein Hall” concert hall in Manchester. It is an energetic and emotional musical narrative reflecting the performer's colourful international journey – from the legendary “La Fenice” opera house in Venice and the magnificent “Teatro Juárez” in Mexico to the “Blue Note” jazz clubs in Shanghai and Beijing. Adrien Brandeis's original compositions blend jazz improvisation, the subtlety of classical music, the temperament of Latin rhythms and an infectious groove. His bright, inventive and expressive sound takes listeners through constantly changing musical landscapes – from delicate, intimate moments to passionate rhythmic outbursts. Described as “France's most Latin pianist”, Adrien Brandeis is a winner of the prestigious “LetterOne Rising Stars Jazz Award”, recognised in 2018 as Europe's best young jazz performer. He has also won first place at “Jazz à Juan”, the audience prize at “Jazz à Porquerolles” and the “UNAC New Talent Jazz 2022” award from France's national union of authors and composers. “HANDMADE” is a virtuosic and vibrant piano recital in which technical mastery becomes sincere emotion. The concert will appeal to both jazz and classical music listeners, and to everyone seeking music that surprises, engages and stays in the memory for a long time.
