On 11 September, Kotryna Juodzevičiūtė and Vytautas Straižys bring “Jazz ’n Soul” to Downtown Piano Lab. Voice and piano meet in a programme of jazz, soul and familiar melodies, reworked in the duo’s own way. Kotryna is a winner of “The Voice of Lithuania”, a finalist in Lithuania’s Eurovision selection and a songwriter. She joins jazz pianist Vytautas Straižys for an evening in which the piano does more than accompany: the two musicians trade phrases and leave room for improvisation. The club puts you close enough to hear the quieter vocal lines and the piano’s replies. Come for the songs, and for the small changes that happen as two musicians listen to each other. The Dainykla project is partly funded by Vilnius City Municipality.
