The evening will feature two extraordinary performers: Godo Yorke and Vytautas Straižys. Godo Yorke (Goda Sasnauskaitė) is a talented songwriter and performer whose voice and work have long left a mark on Lithuania’s alternative pop scene. Goda’s musical journey is marked not only by a diversity of styles, but also by an extraordinary ability to embody her experiences in song. Her voice is powerful and untamed yet subtle, while her lyrics often touch on current issues in society and her personal experiences. In her live performances, Goda conveys an archaic spirit inspired by her idols Bruce Springsteen, Jeff Buckley and Janis Joplin. In this concert, Goda will reveal herself in a new role – as a jazz and blues performer radiating not only her extraordinary voice but also a sensitivity that draws in every listener. Vytautas Straižys is one of Lithuania’s most exceptional jazz pianists, whose musical career began at the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and continued at the Royal Conservatoire in the Netherlands. Vytautas’s talent is more than technical virtuosity; his performances are a journey through musical eras and genres in which he masterfully combines the styles of Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Claude Debussy. Vytautas’s improvisations not only impress with their musical flexibility but are also enriched by emotional depth. The pianist also sings and founded the well-known “Downtown Piano Lab” – a space where he shares his creative ideas and experience with other music enthusiasts. This concert is not only an opportunity to hear masterfully performed jazz and blues, but also to immerse yourself in a musical world filled with emotion, improvisation and unforgettable moments.
