On the evening of 24 September, the sensitive vocals of EMA (Ema Vaitekūnaitė) and the sound of virtuoso pianist Vytautas Straižys's piano will meet on the DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB stage. EMA is known to listeners from live performances and the song “Two Sides of Life”, which was played on Lithuanian radio; she also took part in the television music project “The Voice of Lithuania”, where she captivated listeners with her distinctive vocal timbre, sincerity and ability to convey the subtlest feelings through song. Virtuoso pianist Vytautas Straižys will also perform on stage. His repertoire brings together interpretations of popular music, jazz and film music. The programme will feature well-known love songs and the most beautiful pop ballads, reborn in a new form – for voice and piano alone. Without excessive noise, leaving space for melody, words and a genuine connection between the performers and their listeners. This is an evening about closeness, longing, love and songs in which each of us can recognise a part of our own story. The Dainykla project is partly funded by Vilnius City Municipality.
