Daiva Starinskaitė | Acoustic Night
Daiva Starinskaitė · vocals · soul · R&B · hip-hop · jazz
There are voices you recognise from the very first phrase. Warm, expressive and filled with emotional power, Daiva Starinskaitė's voice is one of them. “Daiva Starinskaitė: Acoustic Night” is a cosy and lively musical evening in which one of Lithuania's most prominent soul, R&B, hip-hop and jazz vocalists will reveal herself through an especially intimate, organic sound. No excessive effects – only voice, live instruments, powerful emotions and music that lets every colour of the performer's voice be heard. Daiva Starinskaitė is well known to listeners as the former vocalist and lyricist of the band “Saulės Kliošas” and the electronic soul group “Keymono”. She studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and the Conservatoire de Paris, performed on various European stages, and, while still only twenty, was noticed by the legendary American trumpeter Ted Curson – together with him, she recorded a live album at the Paris jazz club “Sunset-Sunside”. Having pursued her musical career in London for many years, the performer today brings to the stage not only impressive experience, but also a mature, deeply personal creative vision. Soul, jazz, R&B, hip-hop and subtle electronic music influences meet naturally in her music, while her voice becomes an equal instrument – sometimes gentle and vulnerable, sometimes powerful and difficult to contain. “Acoustic Night” is an opportunity to hear Daiva closer than usual: sincere, open and unafraid to improvise. The evening will bring an intimate acoustic sound, unexpected musical interpretations and a genuine connection between the performer and the audience. This is not merely a concert – it is an evening for those who seek authenticity in music, live emotion and a voice capable of telling more than words. The Dainykla project is partly funded by Vilnius City Municipality.
